Why the tear up in the Seneca downtown

For the next few weeks, a one-block section of the Seneca downtown will be a construction zone.  But it’ll be all for the better, according to the mayor.  On N. 1st between Fairplay and Townville streets, the sidewalks are being replaced and the city utilities are going to be buried.  Mayor Alexander believes this is going to be a benefit for business and pedestrian traffic, and he urges motorists to be careful maneuvering past the one-block area.  For motorists who would normally parallel park, the mayor recommends finding a spot on one of the side streets.
