Westminster will “Big Foot” it last weekend of month

If the real Big Foot actually makes an appearance this month in Westminster, his every movement will be recorded by a camera in the air. The city council last night gave its blessing to a Walhalla man’s plans to fly a drone over the two-day festival that’ll pay homage to a mythical creature. Dale Glymph, festival organizer, introduced drone operator Robert Seiter who explained he’s able to fly his drone safely at speeds of no more than 15 miles an hour. City Council gave its official blessing last night to the Bigfoot Festival to take place on Friday and Saturday, October 25 and 26. Among the festivities will be a parade for which the police department is making preparations. As to the kind of draw this first of its kind festival will attract, Police Chief Rory Jones said, “500 or 25 thousand, we don’t know.” At least two of the visitors will come from the Mideast, as the guests of Councilman Yousef Mefleh. The restaurateur is at least one member of the Westminster business community who has caught Big Foot fever. The front of Mefleh’s restaurant features a large depiction of Big Foot and Mefleh looking up with an expression of awe.
