Westminster Traffic-Related Death

Oconee County Coroner Karl Addis reports a 75-year-old Spartanburg County man died Thursday morning in the emergency department at Oconee Memorial Hospital due to injuries sustained in a motor vehicle collision. A 911 call reporting the collision was received at approximately 7:30 am Thursday morning. The two-vehicle collision occurred on SC 11 (Cherokee Scenic Highway) near Westminster. The decedent is identified as James Bruce Ballard, 75, of Spartanburg. He died at 08:14 am as a result of blunt force chest trauma. His manner of death is classified as accidental.
