Westminster stays local for its next police chief

Westminster decided to promote from within to fill the job of police chief.  The job goes to Matt Patterson whose work the last 30 days as the interim chief impressed the city council, according to Mayor Brian Ramey.  Patterson’s selection was made official last night after a short council private meeting.  Now, says the mayor, it’ll be up to Patterson to negotiate with the city administrator the terms of his employment, including his compensation. There were two others regarded as finalists for the job:  Amanda Tinsley and Benjamin Hailey.
