Westminster man’s arrest part of two separate investigations

While executing a search warrant in an unrelated investigation, Oconee Sheriff’s Office says, evidence was obtained that led to the charge of criminal sexual conduct with a minor against a 19-year old Westminster man.  The man arrested—Jerad Milton Grimes—is also charged with contributing to the delinquency of a minor based on evidence that the sheriff’s office says was gathered to indicate that Grimes took a minor female to a house party where alcoholic beverages were consumed.  A second contributing to the delinquency of a minor offense laid against Grimes alleges that he encouraged a minor female to provide false information to law enforcement August 4 at Prisma Health Oconee Memorial Hospital.  Deputies say that on August 4 they followed a Grimes-driven vehicle that contained a minor female and an adult male passenger, who had been shot in the leg.
