A Westminster singer has added his talent to a song that’ll evoke memories of the way life used to be in his city—when a lot of the life centered on a large textile plant. Boyce Snipes calls his tune “Beacon Star” which—Beacon for the most common of names the plant operated under and a star you can still see at Christmas time atop a water tank next to the railroad. Snipes shares part of the song that he has written as part of a reunion next month of people who worked at a plant known for its towels and blankets. Later on 101.7/WGOG NEWS you can hear “Beacon Star” as well as the singer’s comments about small town life and a small town’s major employer.
