Westminster councilman makes a request

A Westminster councilman who changed his vote and helped lead his colleagues toward a state legal opinion to address conflict of interest questions in city government is making a request.  Brad Chastain says he wants the city council to review the letter that City Attorney Andrew Holliday will send to the Attorney General.  That letter is expected to address at least two questions:  whether a conflict exists due to the fact Reid Adams is serving a council term while his wife, Jennifer, works as clerk-treasurer and whether a conflict was created Tuesday night when Mr. Adams cast a vote to further amend the city’s nepotism policy.  Meantime, the spokesman for Attorney General Alan Wilson, has explained the ground rules on what goes into an Attorney’s General opinion.  The spokesman’s comments are airing today on 101.7/WGOG NEWS.
