Dr. Michael Thorsland has once again won the confidence of his employers—the five-member Oconee School Board of Trustees. As the result of the district superintendent’s annual evaluation, Thorsland is being rewarded with a pay raise of four percent, along with another year on his contract. Although Thorsland has yet to officially sign the new deal, he can expect to see his base salary increase to $151, 929.37 cents a year. Of all seven performance standard indicators, according to the school district, Thorsland scored proficient or exemplary in all areas.” Andy Inabinet, board chairman, said, “We are very appreciative of the work and leadership that Dr. Thorsland provides the School District of Oconee County. We look forward to a long, continued relationship.”
