Wayne Smith

Westminster – John Wayne Smith, 77, passed away, Wednesday, February 8^th, 2023 at Prisma Health Oconee Memorial Hospital.   

 

Wayne was born in Oconee County, South Carolina and was the son of the late John Ben Smith and Maudie Lee James Smith. Wayne had worked for Kendall, was an avid reader, who enjoyed watching sports and loved Nascar and Country Music. Wayne was known for his warm smile and always looked for the good in people and was a member of Westminster First Baptist Church.

 

Wayne is survived by his brother Jerry Smith and wife Kathy of Westminster; nieces, Melanie Smith Juraschek (Rick), Monica Smith Addis, Kerry Reagan Smith, Whitney Smith Jones (Ben); great nephew, Jimmy McClellan Smith (Claire); great-nieces, Anna Ward Juraschek and Claire Elizabeth Jones; and sister in-law, Sandra Benjamin Smith.

 

Wayne is preceded in death by his parents, and his brother, Jimmy Smith.

 

A funeral service will be held 2:00 pm, Sunday, February 12^th, 2023, at Sandifer Funeral Home Chapel with a private burial to follow at First Baptist Memorial Park. The family will receive friends prior to the services 1:00 pm – 2:00 pm, Sunday, February 12^th, 2023 at Sandifer Funeral Home.
