Wayne McCall’s plans post-Oconee County Council

At election time next month, Wayne McCall is standing down from his service as an Oconee County councilman.  After three terms, he’s leaving office.  There are two men competing to succeed him.  What might life be like for him as a private citizen?  It likely won’t look a lot different from how he has comported himself the last 12 years.  McCall told the Walhalla mayor and council last night that, although he is planning to be in the Central American country of Nicaragua, he will still be available to offer free help to municipal governments and fire departments  in District Two.  Over the years, the co-owner of a welding and machine shop has developed a friendly working relationship with Walhalla city officials and is well known for the lead he took in restoring the municipal pool for public use.
