Walhallan faces drug and gun charges in Georgia

A Walhalla man was arrested late at night at a Toccoa, Georgia convenience store on drug and gun charges. Toccoa Police Chief Jimmy Mize says on the night of September 4  Matthew Lowell was arrested after an officer looked into a locked Ford Edge at the Mountain Mart. A total of three police officers responded. Mize says one of them stayed with the car while the other two went into the store to speak to 31-year old Lowell. The police say the following charges were filed: possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute; trafficking methamphetamine; possession of heroin with intent to distribute; trafficking heroin, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon; possession of a firearm in commission to commit a crime; and possession of drug-related objects.
