Walhalla welcomes visitors on Independence Eve

Walhalla welcomes visitors to make a day and night of it in the County Seat.  The city’s Independence Eve celebration is officially underway, and there’s a lot available for people of all ages.  According to Libby Imbody, city events planner, many of the downtown restaurants and businesses are offering specials, including some sidewalk sales.  Walhalla Fire Department will distribute American flags and there’ll be bags of candy for children.  The evening hours are special tonight in Walhalla.  The local Bad Creek Band will start performing at 6 o’clock from the Green and the music will be amplified to the extent that you should be able to hear from practically any spot up and down Main Street. Everything will be capped off at dusk tonight, around 9:15, when a professionally-produced fireworks show will alight the sky from a field off the Main Street.  Everyone is encouraged to find a spot, follow social distancing, and enjoy the show.
