Walhalla utility bills go out late, city delays late penalty

The late mailing of Walhalla utility bills, combined with a mail holiday today in deference to the late President Bush, has prompted the city to waive the 10% penalty this month, which will give customers until December 20 to pay without penalty. The decision was made last night at City Hall during a meeting of the mayor and council and utilities superintendent Scott Parris. Parris also announced that, starting around January 1, City Hall’s new software system for billing should be in place.
