Walhalla sets off-duty staffing fees

Walhalla’s elected leaders are placing on the books an ordinance covering fees to be paid for its employees who engage in off-duty work events.  City council gave first reading approval to a new ordinance.  Brandon Burton, city administrator, says the police and public works employees have been paid for Oktoberfest and events held by the Performing Arts Center, but fire fighters were not.  That’s changing, and hourly fees for the event work put in by the police, fire, and public works employees is being set $25 an hour.
