Walhalla has job openings

City of Walhalla has jobs to fill. Councilman Dennis Owens, one of the city’s mayoral candidates, told 101.7/WGOG NEWS this morning there are openings in both the police and public works departments. Salary was the deciding factor for two Walhalla police officers who left for better paying jobs in Seneca, according to Sean Brinson, Walhalla police chief. Brinson said his department has lost two officers to Seneca since the start of the year. Another opening was created with the retirement of a third officer. Owens says his city’s public works department is short of help, and there’s talk among city officials about how to overcome that.
