Walhalla girl wins state pageant

A 7th grader at Walhalla Middle School is reaching out to the public this week for help in filling up her ad page for a national pageant she’ll compete in this summer at Little Rock, Arkansas.  Mikaylah Fisher will represent South Carolina in the National Miss High School America Pageant, having won the South Carolina pageant February 20 at Converse College in Spartanburg.  She lives with medical disabilities, and says, “Raising awareness about children with disabilities both medical and physical, and the effects of childhood bullying are so important to me.”  An honor roll student, Mikaylah is the daughter of Shane and Jessica Fisher of West Union and the granddaughter of Stephanie O’Shields.
