Walhalla candidates in front of voters second time

An event next week in Walhalla will serve as a second opportunity to flesh out what are the top issues in the city that serves as the county seat. The Journal is announcing plans for a debate to take place from 7 to 9 Wednesday night at the Performing Arts Center. The night could be a chance for some of the candidates to add to their stands on the issues that were batted around Tuesday night during the Partners for Progress forum at the Depot. One candidate has told us that he wishes he had had the chance Tuesday to add to a comment he made in response to one of the questions. Wednesday night next week might also be a chance for mayoral candidate Danny Edwards, the incumbent, to give further details to something he alluded to this week. And that was “changes” that he predicted need to be made in the public works department. Edwards hinted one change might be to cut out rural pickup of solid waste, although that’ll cut into some of the public works’ revenues.
