Halbig calls for a sitdown

Members of the public had things to say last night about expanding passenger bus service to the Walhalla and Westminster areas, but Oconee County Council did not receive an update on the plan to implement transit service. The reason for that, according to County Administrator Scott Moulder, is that there was no update available. There is sentiment on the council to try van-sized buses and test routes to determine what kinds of ridership are possible. Ed Halbig, Seneca’s point man for “CAT” service, says those are decisions for his mayor and city council. He said, “We need to basically have a sitdown with the county regarding their wishes so far as testing or further physical study of this…,” Halbig said today.
