Vote to expand Seneca’s corporate limits

If there is a concurring vote by the city council, Seneca’s corporate limits will grow by four acres along Old Salem Road, in the vicinity of Lake Keowee. Last night the planning commission recommended the annexation of two parcels owned by Lake Keowee Marina and a zoning classification of planned development undeveloped. Ben Collins of Central represented the marina during the City Hall hearing. The planning commissioners made their recommendation in a 5-0 vote, after hearing Ed Halbig, planning and community development director, endorse the request. The commissioners also recommended the re-zoning of 10 acres on Pruitt Road from a commercial to a residential zone. James Goldman, property owner at 540 Pruitt Road, said he’s planning to build a home there.
