Volunteers pitch in to help feed the hungry

City of Seneca and County of Oconee are commending the many volunteers who’ve begun to fill a gap by bringing in meals, water, sunscreen, and other needed commodities for those who are tornado-displaced and those who are working to help the victims restore their lives.  Unfortunately, the need to feed those in need of food is growing.  If you can donate food or needed items, check in to the volunteer reception center at Seneca High School. If you can help with food, call the coordinator at 710-1548 daily between the hours of 9 am and 5 pm.  If you are in a tornado-damaged area, remember to approach all downed lines as if they are energized.  Anyone encountering a downed line should stay at least 10 feet away and avoid touching it.  Power lines do not have to spark to be live and dangerous.
