Visit next week could be key to downtown’s future

Libby Imbody and many others will extend the welcome mat next week to a group of visitors whose three-day trip to Walhalla could be a key to furthering the prosperity and popularity of the city’s core commercial district.  These visitors will represent the South Carolina Main Street Program, which Walhalla has joined for the purpose of further revitalizing the downtown.  And Imbody, the Walhalla Main Street Director, says these visitors will have their eyes out for potential improvements and will be talking to important members of the downtown business community.  All who care about Walhalla will have the opportunity two attend one or two events.  Both will be at the Performing Arts Center.  The first will be 5:30 Monday evening, an interactive town hall, spread out with the requirement that all wear masks.  It’s a chance for you to express what you’d like to see in the downtown; the second is the following night, at 6 o’clock Tuesday, when the team from the state level returns to present its recommendations.
