Updating the region’s transportation plan

The government service agency, the South Carolina Appalachian Council of Governments, has begun to update the region’s transportation plan.  “A-COG” planner Lance Estep calls it a five-year plan, and the office at Greenville is obligated to make changes based on population changes and the conditions that impact the growth—all with the eye to reduce the traffic congestion that many motorists are encountering not only in the urban sections of the Upstate, but in the rural areas also.  Part of the plan includes Seneca’s East End intersection, where traffic and development has increased in recent years.  In an interview airing on 101.7/WGOG NEWS, Estep addresses the possibilities for improving the intersection, which is under study by the state DOT.
