THIS UPDATE IS BEING COMMUNICATED TO CLARIFY THE AREAS AFFECTED BY HE BOIL WATER ADVISORY ISSUED THIS MORNING.  AFFECTED AREAS INCLUDE THOSE ROADS ON HWY 76 FROM RIVERSONG RD, ALL SECONDARY ROADS COMING OFF OF THIS AREA AND THE AREAS ALL THE WAY TO UNITY CHURCH RD.

A “Boil Water Advisory” to certain customers of the City of Westminster is now being issued. Areas affected include the following subdivisions and secondary roads specifically and to any area that may have experienced loss of water this morning at approximately 4:00am.

Riversong Rd and surrounding areas

Welcome Church Rd

Unity Church Rd

Once the City has received two sets of satisfactory test results from samples taken out in the water distribution system consideration can be given to lifting this Advisory.

Customers and system users living in the affected areas advise residents living in the affected areas to vigorously boil their water for at least (1) full minute prior to drinking or cooking.  Any ice that has been made with water, which has not been boiled, should not be used.

This precaution is issued due to a  6” water main break on Welcome Church Rd.

The first set of water samples are being collected this morning and the second set will be collected no earlier than 24 hours later.  Drinking water regulations require we obtain two satisfactory results 24 hours apart before lifting a “Boil Water Advisory”.
