Up to $3 million possible for county’s next road program

The director of Oconee’s roads and bridges department, Kyle Reid, estimates it’s possible that between $2 and $3 million dollars will be available to spend on the county’s next roads program.  Reid yesterday said he has a tentative list of roads to pave and, once it is ready, he’ll forward that list to the county fathers for approval.  The 2021 road work program will benefit from an infusion of $1 million dollars allocated earlier this year by the county’s state “C” fund committee.  The possibility for up to $3 million to be applied to county road work is pleasing to District Five councilman Glenn Hart, who chairs the county’s road and transportation committee.
