Underwood changes mind, will run

A Walhalla councilman who had previously announced he’s leaving city government has changed his mind.  And, on this last day of candidate qualifying, David Underwood says he’s back in politics and will ask the voters to grant him a third, four-year term in November.  Last month Underwood had said he had pretty much seen accomplished what he had set out for eight years ago, and so he said he would not run again.  But Underwood now says, “I have been contacted by a lot of people wishing that I would try to stay on council and run again.  I am very humbled by this outpouring of support so, at this time, I will first put it in God’s hands to see if it is his will for me to join the team to keep Walhalla moving forward.”  The candidate qualifying period ends at the noon hour today.
