Two traffic impact studies underway

Before Seneca takes a final vote on a re-zoning application, the city will have two studies to assess the potential impact on traffic on a two-lane road that’ll pass by a large housing development. The housing project and its potential of 235 new homes are planned for property in the vicinity of S. Cove Road behind the former Covidien plant in Bountyland. Scott Moulder, city administrator, said the mayor and council should have two separate assessments of the traffic impact before they cast a second and final vote on a project brought to the city by developer Jon Boyd of Greenville. One study is that which Boyd has arranged with the South Carolina DOT. The other is a study to be done independently by the city.
