Two shootings yesterday in Stephens County, Georgia

The police in Stephens County, Georgia are investigating shootings yesterday, believed to have occurred at two separate convenience stores.  In all, three people are said to have been wounded by gunfire.  A Toccoa man was taken into custody.  The first shooting was reported just after the noon hour at Buddy’s Kwik Stop on Big A Road; the second at Tony’s General Store on 123 not far from the South Carolina line.  One male victim shot in the leg was airlifted to a Gainesville hospital in stable condition.  Two persons wounded at Tony’s General Store were sent to separate hospitals.  Within one hour, the Toccoa police said a 31-year old man, driving a rental car, was taken into custody in what the police said was a felony traffic stop at a third convenience store.
