Two Seneca seniors map out teaching careers

Two seniors at Seneca High School have been awarded South Carolina Teaching Fellowships. For Tyson Gentry and Maggie Hart, this is part of their path to become educators once they finish their college educations. Tyson is headed to Anderson University to study Art Education and become K-12 certified. He plans to pursue a master’s degree and work as a visual arts professor at a college. Maggie will join the freshman cohort this fall at the College of Charleston and become involved in service projects and partnership with the local schools there. South Carolina’s Teaching Fellowship Program was established by the General Assembly in 1999 to recruit talented high school seniors into the teaching profession and help them develop leadership qualities.
