Two “probable” Oconee COVID deaths
The deaths of two Oconeeans on June 28 are considered today by the state health agency to have been probable cases of COVID-19. On the DHEC report this afternoon, four additional confirmed deaths of South Carolinians due to the virus were added to the state’s running totals. For the 24-hour count that ended Monday night, there were 462 new confirmed cases of the virus across the state — one of them in Oconee County. Of 6,593 test results received, the positivity jumped to 8.8%.
