Two Oconee Sheriff’s Office developments

In the George Floyd aftermath, Oconee Sheriff”s Office has hired Dan Holland as a cultural diversity director for the office.  Holland has a background in education and, for an eight-year period, served on a corporate compliance committee for the Greenville Hospital System/Oconee Medical Center.  According to the announcement, Sheriff Crenshaw has tasked Holland to develop a program that examines department culture, teaching inclusion and equity to employees on a recurring schedule.  Tentative plans call for offering the program to county government workers, along with all law enforcement in the county.  In the other development, white-collar crime officer Amanda Tinsley announced that “Crenshaw told me that he did not need my services anymore. I have expected this since I filed to run for Sheriff and am good with the decision.  I do not regret doing what I knew to be right….”  This morning Crenshaw told 101.7/WGOG NEWS: “As part of my evaluation of all employees moving toward the new term, I can confirm that Tinsley is no longer an employee of the Sheriff’s Office.  Personnel matters are protected under our law for the employee sake which limits what I can release unless a FOIA  request is made for a personnel file.” Tinsley’s challenge against two-term Sheriff Crenshaw failed, as Crenshaw’s unofficial winning margin was reported around 80%-20%.
