Two Oconee projects open for public feeback

Two major Oconee County projects are up for public comment, pursuant to legal advertisements.  They are expansion projects at the county Rock Crusher near Walhalla and at the commercial and demolition landfill at Seneca.  South Carolina DHEC is reviewing and accepting comments on Oconee’s plans to expand the granite quarry operations.  At Seneca, the county believes it will be able to extend the life of its commercial and debris dump by more than 100 years, provided it can go through with opening what the county administrator calls a new cell C-and-D property.  Factors, such as the increased debris taken to the landfill after last year’s tornado, are weighing in the new to stretch the landfill.
