Two manufacturers considered promising for Oconee
Two prospects for a developing commerce park on Oconee’s n. highway 11 are on a “hot” status list disclosed today by the county’s Economic Alliance. Those prospects remain code-named, but Richard Blackwell says you can look for the start of construction on one of them soon. Blackwell this morning referred to “Project Mackinaw” for whom a large concrete pad area has been designated inside the Information and Technology Park. A fee-in-place of tax arrangement for the unidentified company is on the agenda for a third final rerading at Tuesday night’s meeting of the Oconee County Council. A second manufacturer is called “Project Thermal” for whom a smaller concrete pad is being set aside. “It’s a 55,000 square foot pad,” Blackwell says.
