Two-lane Tanglewood Drive perilous for buses

Residents of a two-lane street in a subdivision near Seneca took encouragement from a city hall meeting yesterday that bus officials will find an alternate route.  At the hearing, Seneca’s Ed Halbig indicated the route change is going to happen after hearing Tanglewood Drive residents say a 40’ bus on their narrow street makes for close public safety calls for the bus, for the mail carrier, and for the homeowner who steps out onto the street to open his mailbox.  Halbig announced that the bus officials are consulting with county school district administrators to come up with an alternate way to help transport students and send the bus on its way back to Seneca. That alternate way is likely to be routing the bus to and back from a traffic light intersection.  Tanglewood is between the school district’s Bountyland Education Campus and the Hamilton Career and Technology Center on highway 11.
