Two county councilmen to register their protest

Two Oconee County councilmen, Paul Cain and Julian Davis, say they will speak during a Clemson public hearing in opposition to the proposed annexation by the Pickens County city of seven acres inside Oconee County. The hearing takes place Monday evening at the Clemson City Hall. The acreage in question makes up Lot #8 at the Hartwell Village shopping center and is to be the spot for a large condominium project called Lakeside Lodge. As unrest mounted yesterday to the idea of Oconee County losing property backing up to Lake Hartwell near Clemson, Cain and Davis made clear they’ll be there to register their opposition. A third county councilman, Glenn Hart, says he intends to be at the hearing, also.
