Two, 100-year olds vaccinated against the virus

The numbers of Oconeeans who have received vaccine doses—or the numbers of county residents who’ve started the process—appear to be blowing apart the theory that many people are simply choosing against being inoculated.  That’s a conclusion one can draw from the numbers and photographs that the local hospital chief operating officer imparted yesterday to the Seneca Rotary Club.  Hunter Kome, C-O-O of Prisma Health’s Oconee Memorial, used the examples of an intensive care unit manager, along with a physician and two 100-year old members of the public as good examples of those who early rolled up their sleeves.  Health care officials have stressed the importance of as many vaccinated people as possible to help achieve a herd immunity to defeat COVID-19 and allow life to resume the normalcy of pre-March 2020.
