Twenty new cases in Oconee schools

 

New cases of COVID appear to be exploding within the Oconee School District.  For the first day back after Thanksgiving, the district registered 20 new cases, 18 of which are students.  The other two are employees.  The breakdown is as follows:  one student each at Westminster Elementary, Seneca’s Northside Elementary, West-Oak Middle, and Walhalla’s James Brown Elementary; two students each at Fair-Oak Elementary and Seneca Middle; three students each at West-Oak High and Walhalla Middle.  At Walhalla Middle, the sixth-grade class has been sent home for distance learning.  Also, four Walhalla High students have been confirmed to have COVID-19.  The employees who were added to the list yesterday: one each at Walhalla Elementary and Ravenel Elementary.
