Trouble at Little Choestoea

The following news release was issued this afternoon by SC DOT:

“Columbia, S.C. (March 21, 2023) – Upon recent inspection, two bridges on Little Choestoea Road (S-37-168) were closed for repairs. One bridge crosses Little Choestoea Creek and the other bridge is over the tributary over Little Choestoea Creek. Both bridges have been closed and a detour route has been established. SCDOT appreciates the patience of motorists as we work to determine a timeframe for repair work and complete the necessary repairs.

 

Detour Route for Eastbound Traffic on Little Choestoea Road (S-37-168): Motorists traveling eastbound on Little Choestoea Road (S-37-168) will be directed to take Blackjack Road (S-37-67), and turn right onto Mt. Pleasant Road (S-37-221). They will then turn right onto Highway 11 (SC-11), back right onto South Union Road (S-37-85). Traffic seeking to get to West Spearman Road or Patterson Road will turn right at the Highway 11 (SC-11), West Spearman Road (S-37-86) intersection.

 

Detour Route for Westbound Traffic on Little Choestoea Road (S-37-168): Motorists traveling westbound on Little Choestoea Road (S-37-168) will be directed to take South Union Road (S-37-85) to Highway 11 (SC-11). They will then turn left onto Highway 11 (SC-11), back left onto Mt. Pleasant Road (S-37-221), then back left onto Blackjack Road (S-37-67). Traffic seeking to get to West Spearman Road or Patterson Road will turn left at the Highway 11 (SC-11) and West Spearman Road (S-37-86) intersection.”
