Trooper explains the law and imparts advice

In South Carolina, if you turn on your windshield wipers, you are to be sure that your vehicle’s headlights are also on.  That’s the law, according to the state patrol and the motor club AAA Carolinas.  Yet, as late as this week, members of one Oconee County body debated whether, in fact, there is such a law requiring the display of headlights.  According to the patrol’s lance corporal Joe Hovis, headlights must be used one-half hour after sunset to one-half hour before sunrise, when wipers are in use, and when visibility is less than 500 feet.
