Treasurer’s door opens, with rules in place

The office of the Oconee County Treasurer opens its doors at 8:30 this morning to accept payment of 2020 property tax bills.  Taxpayers may pay in-person until the regular 5 o’clock hour closing time and should enter the door in front of the office.  To avoid longer wait time, have your bill readily available.  Keep in mind everyone is required to practice social distancing and wear a mask while in the building.  The best option remains payment by mail.  Other options include the drive-thru window; the payment drop box on the side of the building; and by phone at toll-free 844/638-1831.  To pay by phone, you must have your receipt number.
