Traffic stop near Seneca leads to drug arrests

A weekend traffic stop near Seneca led to the arrests of two Oconeeans on drug charges. Announcement by Sheriff’s Office states that Jonathan Paul Craig, 30-year old Seneca resident, was charged with possession of a controlled substance; Rebecca Lynn Jones, 36-year old Walhalla area resident, charged with trafficking in meth – 3rd or subsequent offense – and possession of weapon during commission of a violent crime. An arrest warrant, issued by Magistrate Blake Norton, accuses Jones during the commission of trafficking meth of possessing a .380-semi automatic pistol. The Sheriff’s Office identified Craig as the driver and Jones as the passenger of a vehicle that crossed the center line into the wrong lane of travel Sunday afternoon. The traffic stop took place at Rick Kelley Lane and Stacey Kelley Drive.
