Tomorrow’s weather should be no factor for transformer move

With sun and no rain in the forecast, weather should not stand in the way tomorrow of the re-scheduled move of a transformer from the rail end at West Union to Duke’s Bad Creek hydro plant.  Once again, Duke Energy and the Walhalla police alert the motoring public to be mindful of what will be a slow move along highways 28 and 107 between  9 am and 6 pm.  Highway traffic will encounter long delays, and motorists are wise to take alternate routes or to adjust their schedules.  The transformer, which weighs 700 thousand pounds, will be moved by truck and is the first of three to be moved over the next three weeks.
