To win the Senate, you spend millions
In the 21st century, the reality is that if you want to win a U-S senate race, be prepared to spend millions of dollars, to be precise at least $100 million. Lindsey Graham’s campaign manager Scott Farmer says Graham’s Democratic opponent, Jaime Harrison, spent $130 million; Graham’s campaign spent $108 million. Speaking today, Farmer expressed pride that his candidate spent less and yet was able to rack up an unofficial 54 to 44% advantage. But federal offices aren’t the only ones that Republicans are taking satisfaction in. They say they succeeded in flipping several county and state offices from Democrats to Republicans.
