Three openings in “Project Lifesaver”

Oconee Sheriff’s Office is announcing three available spots for families to register their loved ones with Project Life saver. The program is designed for those with a tendency to wander. Participants are given tracking bracelets to be worn at all times, so that in the event they get lost and require rescue, they can be found by paramedics and law enforcement personnel. Besides a tendency to wander, you must live in Oconee and have a medical diagnosis for Alzheimer’s, dementia, autism, or down syndrome. The Sheriff’s Office also has three available Knox Boxes—metal boxes that hang from the front door of a home that contain a spare key. This allows the proper authorities to gain entry without having to break down doors.
