Three lawyers go in, no action comes out

The Seneca mayor and the council met in private for one hour last night. They came back, took no action, and adjourned the meeting. Neither did anyone make a public statement as to exactly what was discussed, other than “water agreements” which were the reason for an unusual middle of the week meeting. However, it came at a time when both Seneca and Oconee County are dealing with the prospect of losing seven acres in the Hartwell Shopping Center to an annexation move by the Pickens County city of Clemson. Invited into the closed-door meeting were the city administrator and three attorneys. 101.7/WGOG NEWS approached Mayor Dan Alexander for a comment, but his Honor would say nothing other than “water agreements” were the reason for the executive session.
