Threat investigated

The following statement this afternoon from Oconee School District:

“Walhalla High School was made aware of a possible social media post that led students to believe there was a threat made to the school.  After a thorough investigation, it was determined to be a false rumor; no credible information was found to support the possibility of a threat. An announcement was made to students reminding them that any actual information or reason to believe there was a danger to the school should be communicated immediately to an adult.  Administrators also communicated that spreading of false information causes a great deal of concern among students, staff and parents and will be handled accordingly through school discipline. Parents were made aware of the situation as well.”
