This summer at the Oconee Chamber of Commerce

The president of the Oconee Chamber of Commerce, banker Darryl Broome, says the organization is approaching the selection of a new executive director.  The next person in charge of day-to-day operations at the chamber will fill the vacancy created when Brittany Kessler resigned to return to her former employer, the Greenville Chamber of Commerce.  Broome credits Kessler with internet work and re-organizing the chamber’s roll of membership as accomplishments during her short stint with the chamber.  And, even though the Oconee chamber has seen two executive directors come and go within two years, Broome believes the chamber is in good shape.  He expects that, with COVID-19 on a decline, the chamber will return to the kinds of people events that create visibility.  In the meantime, a college intern and members of the board of directors are manning the chamber office on SC 28, in front of the Cliffabee Leas home development.
