This is the Tamassee DAR School’s 100th year

It’s centennial time for a children’s school in Oconee that is situated within the Appalachian region. And the hardships that Appalachia across the eastern part of the U-S experienced way back are behind the formation of the Tamassee DAR School that Lori Bailey says benefits from local partnerships. Bailey is the modern day school administrator. Land used to build the school in the early part of the 20th century was donated by local residents. To observe, the school’s 100th year will be special events—including a concert in April and a community event in July.
