The impact of low unemployment on the Tech campus

Tri-County Technical College officials like what they see in enrollment numbers, even though this is a time of low jobless rates. The latest numbers reported by the state show two percent jobless in Tech’s three-county service area–Oconee, Anderson and Pickens.  Although most people who are part of the workforce have jobs, Tech’s Dan Cooper says the college is concentrating on training students for advancement or for the skills needed to hold onto to their positions.  Cooper serves as chief of staff for Tech’s president, Galen DeHay.
