The icing on the cake reads: “Happy Retirement Rory Jones”

Friends, acquaintances, and colleagues dropped by a Westminster meeting hall this morning to wish Rory Jones well in the Westminster police chief’s retirement years.  After four years as the city’s chief, and preceded by several years as a Seneca police investigator, Jones is bound for the sidelines, in part, to be able to spend better quality time with his family.  But Jones may not be retiring retiring.  He admits that he’s had an interest in a possible candidacy for the office of Oconee Probate Judge, the judgeship now held by Kenny Johns.  101.7/WGOG NEWS also learned recently there’s another well-known Oconeean who is interested in probate judge, which will come up during the off-presidential elections of next year.
