The first 2020 newborn is being cradled by mom

The first newborn at the Prisma Oconee Memorial Hospital came into this world at 12:46 pm yesterday. A photographer and two reporters were escorted into the hospital room for a chance to see the newborn and to meet and speak to the mother. The newborn is Loyalty Grace Roberts and the mother is Seneca resident Megan Roberts. Delivering physician was Dr. Vance Pirkle. At birth, Loyalty Grace weighed 5 pounds. 28 ounces and measured 19”. “It’s my first child. It’s pretty good so far. Still a little bit nervous and all the new stuff we’re fixing to run into,” the mother told us. Ms. Roberts says among the hopes she has for Loyalty is that she stays healthy, gets good grades, and plays sports.
